**Position Overview**
The Deputy Associate is part of a team who assist the Judge in the day-to-day management of Chambers and Court. The role of the Deputy Associate is to assist the Associate and deputise for them when they are on leave or on circuit.
**Key Duties**
The Deputy Associate works closely with the Associate. The role of the Deputy Associate includes, but is not limited to:
- undertaking complex legal research, writing and proof reading as required;
- attending court, including providing administrative assistance in the court room;
- assisting the Associate in the day-to-day management of chambers (including the preparation of correspondence, liaising with practitioners and court staff, using the Court’s case management system and assisting with docket management);
- managing chambers in the absence of the Associate; and
- attending to other duties as required.
**Selection Criteria**
The Deputy Associate should meet the following criteria:
- demonstrated ability to undertake legal research and legal writing;
- strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to communicate with people at all levels;
- demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to manage several processes at once;
- the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities and participate in collective work practices; and
