CHC Helicopters has a current opportunity for a dynamic individual to take on the role as Deputy Manager Crew Training (DMCT) APAC. This is a full time Management position who will assist the Manager Crew Training with accountabilities for the provision of CHC APAC Flight Training program, to support safe and compliant operations. The deputy MCT must be acceptable to CASA as a substitute Head of Training and Checking for Australia when required.
The Deputy MCT will report directly to the Manager Crew Training/Head of Flight Training, assisting the Manager Crew Training and Manager Flight Operations (MFO) to ensure all Type Rating Instructor (TRI) and (Type Rating Examiner (TRE) are conducted in a safe, efficient and professional manner in accordance with Company manuals and policies in their AOC.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist MCT with all training requirements to support safe and compliant operations and act as the post holder MCT when required.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining the Company approved training system, with safety of Company operations as the first priority.
- Driving implementation and adherence of the CHC harmonized flight operations standards and procedures within CHCI.
- Ensuring a high standard of training and testing is maintained according to OM Part A, B, C, D, F, and G.
- Monitoring and maintenance of flight crew training through regular observation and appraisal in the training and examining role.
- Ensuring training programs are arranged for efficient and cost effective use of aircraft, simulators, training facilities and training manpower in accordance with the operations manual.
- Consistent in setting flight crew proficiency standards at the highest level appropriate to the safety of line operations in close liaison with other MCT’s and under supervision of the Head of Flight Training
- Meeting the requirements of relevant regulations as appropriate at all times so far as they relate to training, testing and checking of flight crew.
- Maintain active and positive dialogue with regulatory agencies (CASA) and customers to ensure acceptable standards and business continuity.
- Ensure content and CASA approval of the worldwide harmonized Company OM Part D.
- Development of staff management capability through career development discussions and supported with performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure activities within the training department are carried out in accordance to established SMS principles in the Company.
- Oversee the coordination and implementation of QMS/LMS/EGS system and associated pilot record management.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with OMD requirements.
- Works closely with outside resources for the delivery of training.
- Maintain in depth knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Must be willing to fly in their AOC on occasional basis to maintain currency.
- Support and Engage with CHC APAC departments in business development strategy and assisting the commercial department to develop well costed and operationally deliverable solutions.
- All further responsibilities as outlined in the Operating Manual A.
- Attend and participate in the Operational and Safety Review Boards.
- Must be willing to travel internationally at times with short notice.
- May be assigned other duties.
