THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive Educational Governance and Initiatives Manager to oversee the operationalisation of the governance, curriculum management and quality assurance of the educational product suite within the Faculty of Arts. In collaboration with the Head of Educational Services, Deputy Dean Education and Employability (or respective Associate Dean) and Faculty Executive Director, the Educational Governance and Initiatives manager will lead the implementation of the Faculty’s educational development, governance and curriculum management plans and initiatives in alignment with the University’s strategic direction, policies and frameworks.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the successful operationalisation of:
- Curriculum management, planning, review and quality assurance- Academic governance support and curriculum- Curriculum management, planning and review- Academic governance and quality assurance (including oversight of a high-quality secretariat function)- External course accreditation processes (not including industry or Faculty-level accreditation)- Manage and coordinate curriculum lifecycle management processes and activities across the Faculty (courses and units), ensuring Faculty-requirements are communicated and negotiated within University requirements, systems, timelines and appropriate governance frameworks.- In collaboration with the Deputy Dean Education and Employability (or respective Associate Dean), Head of Educational Services and academic staff, manage the scoping, development, approval and implementation of new educational courses and units, and the review and redevelopment of existing educational courses and units.- Provide high-level coordination and facilitation relating to course development, implementation and review, including support with development of papers and reports for Faculty Executive, Faculty Committees and University Committees.- Collaborate with Faculty Deputy Deans, the Faculty Executive Director, Associate Deans and University Academic portfolios to manage the internal and external accreditation and reaccreditation processes for the Faculty coursework suite.- Build and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve Faculty priorities, including acting as the Faculty’s key internal contact with regards to curriculum management and the coordination of high-stakes visits associated with accreditation.- Support the internal review, evaluation and implementation of documentation such as policy documents prior to submissions.- In collaboration with the Head of Educational Services and the Deputy Dean (Education and Employability) or equivalent Associate Dean, manage the development and implementation of specific education projects for the Faculty, including defining and driving key deliverables and timeframes.- Consult with key stakeholders to gather information relating to strategic projects and provide recommendations to the Head of Educational Services and Deputy Dean of Education and Employability to inform decisions.- Manage, coach and develop staff within the Educational Governance and Initiatives team and foster strong and collaborative working relationships, an appropriate division of workload and support for individual performance.- Work collaboratively with the Head of Educational Services and other managers across the Faculty Educational Services team to identify and implement changes which improve the student experience.- Comply with relevant professional standards and codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations.- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.
