The section is seeking an APS6 equivalent contractor to perform the role of Program Support Officer. The section is responsible for the planning and delivery of domestic and international services, along with projects relating to the departments program. The section undertakes a number of functions including event operations and logistics, ceremonial and service content development, procurement, finance and project delivery.
The Program Support Officer role will support the delivery of the section in relation to administrative and governance functions including written communications, briefing material and ministerial correspondence, corporate reporting, governance, secretariat, and assisting with procurement and recruitment activities.
The successful applicant will possess strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare high quality and accurate briefings and correspondence. The occupant will have the ability to undertake research to assist with formulating responses and demonstrated excellent attention to detail and an ability to effectively manage positive stakeholder relationships in order to achieve key milestones and outcomes.
The ability to work extended hours during the event delivery period may be required. Some travel may also be required.
The APS 6 equivalent Program Support Officer will undertake a range of duties including:
- Prepare high quality written communications, briefings and responses to ministerial correspondence
- Undertake research to assist in formulating responses
- Manage corporate reporting and governance requirements
- Undertake procurement and contract activities
- Provide secretariat support to stakeholder committees
- Assist with strategic and business planning and program development
- Facilitate recruitment processes
As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, well-developed communication skills with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in the role you will have the following experience:
- Strong project management skills including experience in developing project plans and an understanding of risk management, good governance and reporting and benefits realisation.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills - capability to develop and maintain strong, productive, and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to support the delivery of the project
- Experience in building relationships and engaging with internal and external government stakeholders and partners.
- Effective time management skills to manage multi-disciplinary type of work.
To be considered for this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
