**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting Health Promotion Officer position (reporting to the Team Leader, Community Health Promotion) within our Social Planning and Wellbeing team.
- The prevention of violence against women
- Food systems and climate change
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Physical activity and active transport.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop, implement and evaluate initiatives which contribute to the Council and Wellbeing Plan 2021 - 2025, Equality and Respect 2030: A Strategy to prevent violence against women by promoting gender equity, and other relevant strategies and plans.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based initiatives aimed at improving community health and wellbeing.
- Develop and deliver capacity building initiatives to increase awareness and understanding of how to support the community in response to emerging health and social issues.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- A tertiary qualification in health promotion, community development, public health, health science, with a relevant major and with experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of health promotion, social determinants of health, chronic disease prevention and preventing violence against women with an intersectional approach.
- Community stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritise workload requirements and capacity.
- Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating internal staff capacity building and community health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
