Government agency looking for a Cultural Heritage Officer to join their property team.
**Your new company**
Our client is a Queensland government agency based in Brisbane that provides a multitude of products and services to deliver strategic project and property plans in the health sector. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to add a Cultural Heritage Officer to their branch to assist with their various property and land projects.
**Your new role**
As the Cultural Heritage officer, you will:
- Help lead negotiations with fist nations parties, traditional landowners, native title holders, representative bodies and Councils.
- Provide specialist advice and assurance on native title and indigenous cultural heritage with regard to the planning and delivery of health infrastructure
- Contribute to the strategic management of the department’s property portfolio including leading the planning, developing, and evaluating policies, strategies and procedures for native title, indigenous cultural heritage, leasing, and land tenure agreements.
- Formulate and provide reliable, high quality and complex specialist advice and recommendations to management, clients and stakeholders in relation to native title, indigenous cultural heritage, leasing, and land tenure agreements.
- Conduct respectful negotiations with fist nations parties, traditional landowners, native title representative bodies and Councils.
- Undertake a range of corporate real estate functions and project activities in accordance with relevant legislative, statutory and policy frameworks, corporate real estate requirements and approved project methodologies.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid understanding of cultural heritage or town planning, ideally within the property sector. Therefore, you will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, with a relevant discipline in these fields. You will have good stakeholder negotiation and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the legislation, policies, procedures, and standards involved in such negotiations in order to give cultural heritage advice to internal and external stakeholders. Given your role includes consistent reporting and documentation, you will also need a solid understanding of Microsoft programs to complete regular project reporting.
**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start in a full-time casual/contracted role with a government agency located in Brisbane CBD. You will be offered an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, paying a negotiable hourly rate + super dependent one experience.
