Moneycare is The Salvation Army’s national financial counselling and financial capability program. It is one of the largest and long-running such programs in Australia. Our evidence-based outcomes measurement process shows that we have a real impact on the lives of the people who come to us seeking assistance through materially improved mental health, personal well-being and financial resilience, including financial hardship alleviation. Moneycare has a focus on holistic, strengths-based services that are professional, caring, and missional.
Our Financial Counsellors provide financial counselling to clients and conduct thorough assessment processes that ensure that clients receive prompt and efficient service. Integrate this with state-wide telephone financial counselling service (Moneycare).
We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Team Leader to lead the operations of a Moneycare team. This is a full-time role located in Greater Sydney.
You will successfully
- Ensure all financial counselling, financial capability and related services are provided at a high level to help people in financial difficulty or crisis and to build financial resilience
- Uphold positive rapport with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure financial counsellors in the team obtain professional body membership and move to full accreditation
- Maintain the SAMIS Moneycare case management system in an orderly, comprehensive and up-to-date manner
- Demonstrate high level understanding of, and compliance with, relevant legal, regulatory and Moneycare processes and policies.
You will have
- Diploma of Financial Counselling or equivalent, or in progress
- Work towards Accreditation as a Financial Counsellor
- Demonstrated ability to work within a counselling framework
- Extensive experience in the field of welfare, community services, counselling or business/finance,
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check.
- A valid Driver’s licence.
- A willingness to undergo a National Police check
