As the Team Leader, you will lead a small team and work as part of the team who are responsible for grounds maintenance and horticulture for a large education facility located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. The team leader will manage and allocate tasks to ensure that all of the required functions of the site are completed to meet the needs of the customer.

Our client is a division of Programmed who specialize in the gardening and horticulture space.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm, with some overtime available at certain times.

**What You'll Do**:
As the Team Leader, you will lead a small team and work as part of the team who are responsible for grounds maintenance and horticulture for a large education facility located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. The team leader will manage and allocate tasks to ensure that all of the required functions of the site are completed to meet the needs of the customer.

Some of the tasks involved are ;
- Manage the schedule of works that need to be done over a daily weekly, monthly and in some cases seasonally to maintain the grounds.
- Engage, lead, and motivate the team using your people management skills to meet and improve the skills of the team members.
- Involve the team by encouragement and motivating to deliver safety excellence and promote risk awareness
- Operate the machinery and mobile plant that is supplied and ensure that the machinery is secure and operated safely whilst on site.

**What We're Looking For**:

- Cert III in Horticulture or similar qualification
- Grounds maintenance and gardening experience
- Team leader or leadership experience
- Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability
- Personal capability to engage and motivate a small team and create a collaborative working environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
