This position reports to the position of Manager Custodial Operations, Office of the Assistant Commissioner's (OAC). The position is responsible for providing advice and assistance on operational service delivery activities and strategic directions for Custodial Operations. The position also manages projects in relation to operational practice enhancements.

**In this role, you will**:

- Undertake research and analyse operating practices in Custodial Correctional Centres, including Escort and Security Branch,
- Provide management and lead administration functions such as risk assessments, reviewing correctional centre practices, business continuity plans, formulating recommendations for the consideration of the Assistant Commissioners, and Manager, Custodial Operations,
- Work with senior managers to align organisational strategies to OAC, Custodial Operations performance and improve performance measurement, evaluation and reporting practices,
- Monitor the quality of offender management and operational activities, identify relevant trends and issues and develop strategies to improve the quality and consistency of offender management activities.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for the OAC.
- Participate as part of the management team within the OAC and contribute to the development of operational plans and strategies.
- Provide a strategic analysis of variations and trends in organisational performance and collaborate with other Directorates in order to achieve strategic outcomes,
- Action requests by senior managers and prepare written advice to the field on administrative protocols,
- Ensure the timely provision of advice to relevant staff and other key staff and stakeholders regarding the business operations of the correctional centres and escort and security branch,
- Assist the management team in developing operational plans.
