**The Role**
Information Sciences Division is seeking a deep thinker and software engineering expert to advance the state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice with respect to intelligent, multi-agent software systems for cyber and electronic warfare. The applied specialist will contribute to the overall R&D vision of the Intelligent Agents discipline and undertake advanced software development activities to demonstrate exemplar Synthetic Intelligent Agent Platforms (SynIAPs) for decision superiority in contested, tactical information environments.

In this role you will:

- Guide and mentor a small team of software engineers;
- Engage with collaborators within DSTG, in academia, and in industry;
- Make a substantial contribution to the conceptualisation, design and implementation of technologies associated with computational intelligence, multi-agent coordination and cooperation, and system self-organisation paradigms; and
- Be able to make judgements about which technologies will have the greatest Defence impact.

- Mentor and guide a small team of engineers; and
- Work autonomously with either limited or strategic guidance. A background in, or experience with, at least two or more of the following areas will be valued:

- Software engineering
- Multi-agent systems
- Electronic warfare
- Cyber warfare
- Modelling and simulation
- Command and control principles
