The role

An exciting new role for Country Road Home due to the continued growth/success of the brand. You will support the research, design and development of home packaging including 365 packaging, events, bath & body and scent; working collaboratively with Design, Planning and PD&S and Brand Creative.

Key responsibilities
- Design specialised home product packaging aligned to the Brand strategy set by the Head of Design, and aligned to the option plan, price points, margin targets and trade insights
- Conceptualise and sketch specialised packaging ranges. Develop and maintenance of all specialised packaging range documents
- Complete thorough product packaging briefing specifications for PD&S team (including technical and construction specifications)
- Provide comments on all raw materials to PD&S team (including lab dips, strike-off and trims)
- Contribute to packaging sample feedback to ensure design, functionality and quality standards are achieved, partnering with PD&S team to achieve cost and margin targets
- Communicate product packaging changes to relevant stakeholders to mitigate any design concerns, potential delays and/or price changes
- Present packaging concepts to key stakeholders throughout the design and development process
- Assess weekly sales reports and attend trade meetings, taking learnings into future actions
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders/vendors to ensure design vision is achieved
- Partner with PD&S team on potential new packaging requirements, providing advance notice to enable PD&S to source new vendors and optimise contract negotiations to meet Brand requirements
- Previous experience in a Packaging Design role.
- Experience working with local and off-shore vendors.
- Proven track record of designing & developing commercially successful product ranges.
- Skilled in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite
- Excellent communicator with the ability to multi-task & work effectively within a team.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a busy team environment
- Knowledge and interest in the design community with creative flair and a passion for design
