About the role
Working in the Secondary School as the Head of Department - Humanities you will:
- Manage the curriculum implementation, and management of equipment and facilities from Years 7-12 utilising the Australian Curriculum, QCAA, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) policies. Subject areas offered include - History, Geography, Civics & Citizenship, Business, and Japanese.
- Foster positive relationships with feeder Primary schools through curriculum sharing.
- Collaborate with other Northern Collegiate school staff to oversee planning and implementation of the collegiate Australian Business Week program.
- Foster positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
- Build community, education and business partnerships with stakeholders to continue to develop future opportunities for students and promote Upper Coomera State College in a positive manner.
- Coach teaching staff in using a range of strategies to manage all aspects of pedagogy, and student behaviour and engagement.
- Develop a culture of continuous review and improvement through the annual review of goals, achievements, assessment and curriculum planning.
- Be actively involved in the Secondary Leadership Team to lead and progress College AIP and strategic plan priorities.
**To be successful in this role you will**:
- Be an effective communicator with excellent skills in developing positive relationships and have the ability to function to a high standard in a team environment.
- Possess a sound knowledge of Essential Skills of Classroom Management, and knowledge of Positive Behaviour for Learning.
- Be highly regarded if you have experience and demonstrated knowledge or leadership in digital learning pedagogy, classroom profiling, and differentiating Humanities curriculum delivery to provide quality schooling for all.
- Have a fractional teaching load.
