The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager, Licensing to provide a critical role within the Tobacco Regulation Project.
**About the Business Unit**
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services focused on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system. Located in the Integrity, Regulation and Legal Services (IRLS) group, the Tobacco Regulation Project (TRP) has been established to deliver the Government's commitment to implement a tobacco regulation and business licensing scheme.
**About the Role**
Reporting to the Director, Licensing and Compliance, the Manager, Licensing will lead the establishment and ongoing management of the licensing team for the tobacco regulator, including:
- contributing to the development of frameworks and processes to deliver the tobacco licensing functions
- monitoring the licensing team's performance against established targets and taking proactive steps to address any discrepancies
- maintaining high quality service delivery, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements
- providing input and specialist advice to inform decision making within the licensing team.
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires sound judgement and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, using influence and negotiation skills to support the provision of clear advice to deliver effective, timely actions.
As the Manager, Licensing some of your duties will include:
- Overseeing the ongoing monitoring of higher-risk industry participants and address information requests appropriately.
- Contributing to strategic planning, implement corporate initiatives, and develop operational policies and processes to improve service delivery.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience leading teams in high-volume, fast-paced operational environments, ensuring performance targets are met and high standards are maintained.
- Demonstrated ability to collate and use operational performance data to inform resource allocation and achieve performance targets.
**Qualifications**
- Appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience in the fields of licensing and/or regulation would be highly regarded.
