**Position Overview**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centered care and assistance to individuals living with disabilities, helping them to live fulfilling and independent lives. Your role will include offering emotional, physical, and social support, assisting with daily living activities, and encouraging individuals to pursue their goals and interests.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide support with daily living tasks, including personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
- Assist individuals in accessing the community, including participating in social activities, appointments, and events.
- Offer emotional and social support to individuals, promoting independence and positive mental well-being.
- Support individuals with the development of their personal goals, skills, and confidence.
- Administer medications as per care plans and health requirements.
- Document and maintain accurate records of care and progress, including daily reports and incident records.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all individuals, ensuring their dignity and rights are upheld.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support workers to ensure consistent care delivery.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on best practices and care techniques.
- Follow organizational policies, health and safety guidelines, and relevant legislation.

**Key Requirements**:

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or equivalent qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in disability support or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with individuals and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- NDIS Workers Screening Check, National Police Check and Working with Children Check (if applicable).
- Valid Driver's License (if required for transporting clients).

**Desirable Skills**:

- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including those with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or mental health challenges.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in the disability sector.
- Ability to assist with mobility aids, hoists, and other equipment as needed.

Pay: $25.00 - $52.98 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Shift work

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

- 25% (preferred)
