**About the role**:
- Helps to manage the department's strategic planning cycle, working across all areas of the department to develop and publish the department's strategic and operational plans, to facilitate the development of divisional plans and to develop other related planning products.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders, gathers and analyses information and contributes to the production of a range of written products and presentations for senior executives, the Executive Board and ministers in relation to government and departmental priorities and actions.
- The Planning team works in consultation with external stakeholders, departmental senior executives, and program areas, and in particular works closely with the Finance division to ensure alignment between planning and budget strategy and with Communications and Engagement regarding published materials. Therefore, the role requires effective engagement with a range of stakeholders.
- The Planning team also supports the Department's preparations for the biannual Public Accounts and Estimates Committee inquiry hearings, requiring coordination of work across the business.

**How you'll make a difference**:
- Contribute to managing the department's strategic planning processes, utilising stakeholder input and providing advice based on sound evidence, analysis and an understanding of relevant social, economic and environmental trends.
- Deliver and/or contribute to timely, high-quality and relevant written products, presentations and briefs to internal customers that supports them to meet their planning obligations and requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of planning products that clearly communicate objectives and actions as required by the specific audience including strategic, operational and divisional plans, as well as any other reports or frameworks required.
- Produce and/or contribute to traditional and contemporary report formats, briefings and presentations that comply with established departmental templates and writing style conventions and are tailored to audience needs.
- Provide valuable insights and advice, informed, where relevant, by collaboration with stakeholders, to enable well-informed decision making and to perform key planning functions.
- Deliver projects and tasks to specified time and quality expectations in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:
- Knowledge and experience in government, consulting, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in policy development and implementation.
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to consulting, health, quantitative analysis, economics, social policy or public administration would be desirable.
- Applicants with a tertiary qualification in other fields but with work experience in the above fields would also be considered also suitable.
