**About the Role**

We are seeking a practical and motivated **Mechanical Trade Assistant** to join our production team. This role is hands-on, working closely with **welders, electricians, and engineers** to support the build and assembly of Sphere Drones’ proprietary hardware, including **HubX, HubT, and custom projects**.

It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys **working with tools, learning new skills, and contributing directly to advanced drone technology builds**.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of frames, enclosures, and components for **HubX, HubT, and custom projects**.
- Carry out fitting and finishing tasks such as cutting, drilling, fastening, grinding, sanding, and painting/prep work.
- Work alongside welders, electricians, and engineers to integrate mechanical assemblies with electrical systems.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- Prepare materials, jigs, and components; support workshop set-ups for daily builds.
- Follow build instructions and drawings, performing test fitting and alignment checks to ensure quality.
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical assemblies and workshop equipment.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and well-stocked workshop environment.
- Contribute to process improvements and participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Previous workshop, mechanical trade assistant, or production floor experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical hands-on skills.
- Basic understanding of mechanical assembly, fabrication, or fitting.
- White Card (Construction Induction Training) required.
- Ability to safely use tools, machinery, and workshop equipment.
- Forklift licence, welding exposure, or fabrication experience an advantage (not essential).

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
