**About the business and the role**

Our client, EMT, provides engineering services for infrastructure utilities, industry, and commercial operations across a wide sphere of disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical & Civil Engineering. EMT's capability extends from consulting, through design, drafting services, project management, site contracting and general engineering as needed for turnkey projects, site upgrades and shutdown works. The Engineering service division is available 24/7 to cope with emergency breakdowns and work scope that can only be undertaken within limited time frame windows. As part of ongoing growth and diversification, EMT is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter for various small to medium size projects in Sydney and wider NSW.

**Responsibilities**
- Site installation, construction, and refurbishment of Mechanical and Electrical projects.
- Mechanical Fitting and Machining works Or Electrical works (motor, pump & gear box service) for service jobs, based in our workshop.
- Strong understanding, focus and commitment on Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Manage the QA requirements and maintain the highest level of workmanship quality.
- Report to the Project Manager / General Manager

Applicants must have the relevant Trade Certifications along with Construction White Card, Confined Space Permits and NSW Driving License. Applicants who have previous experience in working on water and sewage treatment plants, with additional certifications such as Work Health Safety, Work at Heights, Rigging, Forklift, Electrical Disconnect / Reconnect, CFR / First Aid would be an added advantage.

**To be considered for this role, you must have**:

- Fitter (General) Trade Qualifications.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Construction White Card, Confined Space Ticket, NSW Driving License, work at height ticket, Forklift License preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in supervising a small team of people with strong hands-on experience shall be an advantage.

As an experienced tradesperson, you will work closely with the service and workshop team. You must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and with the team safely, along with understanding best practice in a construction environment. EMT is looking for a person with drive and ambition, willing to learn and grow their knowledge base and skills in the industry and show a desire to develop their career as a Supervisor / Project Manager.

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
