As a Trades Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Service and Parts Yard, supporting daily rental equipment operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily routines in the Service and Parts Yard to keep everything organised and efficient.
  • Perform pre-start checks and weekly running of rental equipment, including security inspections.
  • Conduct pre-start checks on service equipment like forklifts, gantry cranes, and trailers.
  • Pressure wash and detail machines to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Assist Service and Parts teams as needed to support smooth operations.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties around the yard and work areas.
  • Identify opportunities for process and tooling improvements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Follow all safety protocols and risk assessment procedures consistently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively across teams, understanding and supporting customer requirements.

Profile description:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Full Driver's Licence is essential.
  • Willingness or ability to obtain High Risk Licences (Forklift, Rigging, EWP, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with standard software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Commitment to safe manual handling and workplace safety.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
