**The opportunity**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Donor Relations Officer to join our dynamic Engagement & Philanthropy team. In this role you will provide outstanding stewardship for the generous gifts received by MCRI. By delivering top-notch service and care to our donors, you will play a crucial role in increasing support for our vital research activities.
The Donor Relations Officer will be accountable for gift reporting, donor engagement, and recognition efforts across both Institutional and Individual fundraising streams. You will work closely with our team to support the entire donor cycle, from understanding donors' passions to cultivating relationships, tracking donations, and ensuring thoughtful donor stewardship.
You're not just a steward of gifts; you're an advocate for efficiency and effectiveness. Actively seeking synergies between Institutional and Individual gift reporting processes, you will identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to streamlining our operations. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will be put to good use. You will develop and maintain comprehensive process manuals on Confluence, ensuring the seamless execution of gift stewardship and donor cultivation activities.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Responsible for reviewing Individual Gift Agreements to ensure requirements so that acknowledgement and stewardship of the gift are practicable and consistent with other similar donations
Accountable for attending monthly meetings with the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation (RCHF) to understand acquittal requirements
Accountable for the development and documentation of new gift reporting processes for Individual donors to be completed in consultation with the Individual Philanthropy team
Responsible for working with Relationship Managers to develop custom engagement plans for the Top donors in their portfolio
Responsible for helping to develop and follow MCRI’s Naming Rights and Recognition policy as outlined in the MCRI Philanthropic Framework
Responsible for managing donor calling campaigns as required (i.e. donation milestones, end of year “thank you”)
**About you**:
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines, and to work calmly under pressure
Ability to work collaboratively and with a high level of flexibility both in a team and independently, in an environment with changing demands
A proficiency in creating diverse donor-specific reports, effectively communicating project outcomes
A strong aptitude for segment planning, identifying and targeting specific audience segments for optimal engagement and results
Experience supporting fundraising programs and working with a CRM database (Raiser’s Edge, desirable)
