**Accounting Controller - Australia**

**ABOUT THE POSITION**
- The Accounting Controller for Australia will be a member of our APAC Controllership Team and will report directly to the Regional Controller for APAC. This highly valuable role will be the lead accounting support for our business in Australia.

We are looking for a motivated accounting professional with deep knowledge of Australia Accounting, Taxes and Compliance with a strong sense of ownership. You will ensure finance compliance with all local accounting rules, laws and regulations and take part of planning and strategizing for our rapidly growing business in Australia.

As the Accounting Controller for Australia, you will:

- Oversee Controllership Functions in Australia including but not limited to General Accounting, AR and AP, Cash Management, Taxes, and Compliance
- Facilitate and manage month-end closing activities
- Coordinate day-to-day work of third party accounting service providers
- Manage and coordinate local financial audits (from Audit Firms, Peers, and Australian Regulators)
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and provide accounting guidance with respect to the energy solutions, service, and digital/SaaS business of the Company
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP by coordinating with APAC and US Controllership Team
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards under IFRS
- Oversee BAS related activities and lodgement
- Assist with handling of multiple currency provisions
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the local tax filings and tax payments prepared by outside tax advisors and / or third party accounting service providers, tax returns, GST statements, payroll tax, and insurance renewals
- Managing external banking transactional relationships
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of accounting
- Managing the monthly financial and board reports
- Assisting with Treasury function and cashflow of the Group
- Provide support to the team within Controllership Team or within the Company, as needed

**REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- A Certified Public Accountant or equivalent in Australia
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Australia (industry and public accounting experience preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with Australian Accounting Principles, Taxation and Compliance
- Knowledge of international taxation requirements (PE, tax implications)
- Proven tax returns and tax statements lodgement knowledge
- Knowledgeable in Accounting Systems (Netsuite or SAP experience preferred)
- Good Communication and People Skills
- Deep Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple relationships with third party accounting providers, vendors and other stakeholders
