**The Role**:
The primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist advice to support the development, management and implementation of strategies, programs and initiatives to promote the Department’s Cultural Capability Plan.
The role works closely with the Manager Inclusion and Engagement to ensure culture and corporate strategies complement each other to maximise the implementation and ongoing success of the Department’s Cultural Capability Plan.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Develop, manage and implement inclusion and engagement strategies and programs that are consistent with and support the broader diversity and inclusion framework including implementing a reporting framework to support decision making.
- Partner with People & Culture and hiring managers to increase attraction and retention of a diverse and inclusive workforce into the Department.
- Provide advice and information to managers on the status of the Department’s Cultural Capability Plan and associated strategies and programs.
- Build the capabilities of the broader workforce to support the implementation of inclusion and engagement policies, programs and strategies including rolling out awareness and training initiatives such as Disability Awareness and Cultural Awareness Training.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders facilitating their engagement and to deliver best practice approaches, including developing solutions to address issues associated with the shaping of an inclusive culture across the Department and Cluster, including the establishment of employee diversity networks.
- Evaluate programs established to ensure they support the broader diversity and inclusion framework and contribute to and support other diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs across the Department and Cluster.
**Key Challenges**:
- Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and communications with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate their engagement and to achieve objectives.
- Balancing the competing needs and expectations of stakeholders, given the range of different stakeholder perspectives.
- Keeping up to date with best inclusion and engagement best practice and thinking in order to act as an agent of change to meet current and future organisational needs.
