**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to leading Australia’s clean energy transition, building the energy super-highways and enabling nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

As the Aboriginal Cultural Officer, you will engage and collaborate on Transgrid’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and ensure the RAP aligns to the rights and interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across all lines of our business. Additionally, you will co-design and implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies to support the RAP for projects delivered by Transgrid.

These strategies will involve building strong relationships with stakeholders including First Nations Elders, Traditional Owners and communities, contractors; and to support this engagement in collaboration with project teams.

You will effectively engage with various stakeholders both internal and external to work closely with project staff to engage Aboriginal Communities on issues, policy and planning development to ensure outcomes are identified and strategies are developed to achieve sustainable outcomes in line with Transgrid’s RAP priorities and Closing the Gap Targets.

This role will work closely with People & Culture team members to align actions across the organisation.

**As Aboriginal Cultural Officer you will**:

- Ensure appropriate engagement and collaboration on the Reconciliation Action Plan aligns to the rights and interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across all lines of our business
- Manage and deliver on initiatives embedded in the RAP
- Develop key foundational Indigenous strategies across all of Transgrid and our RAP supporting us to achieve our vision towards reconciliation
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of Transgrid policies and objectives including the Transgrid RAP
- Liaise with Policy and Program areas providing feedback on policies and processes that affect Aboriginal stakeholders to assist in achieving transformational outcomes on Transgrid projects

**Skills & Experience**
- Develop and maintain communication networks with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to ensure delivery of project objectives and milestones
- Provide and contribute to advice, analysis and development of strategies that support pathways for Aboriginal employees through Transgrid’s RAP.
- Proven ability to develop and sustain collaborative activities with all community stakeholders.
- Proven track record of planning and effectively delivering innovative projects and initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present verbal and written reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high quality outcomes.
