As one of three Divisions facilitating the Organisation's vision and purpose, **Organisational Capability** provides a wide range of vital, enabling services, to support QCS' long term and strategic objectives. A high performing values and integrity based Senior Executive is sought to lead the **Professional Standards and Governance Command.**
**Assistant Commissioner Professional Standards and Governance Command**
Delivering to a vision for a mature, corruption resistant, top tier public safety agency, your leadership of **Ethical Standards** and **Internal Audit** will see the further establishment and implementation of robust policies, systems, frameworks and process, to deliver an evidence-led, defensible and consistent approach to complaints, investigations, intelligence, appeals and legal discipline. With a focus on process improvement and responsiveness, you will lead whole-of-organisation transformational change and improvement where appropriate, and re-shape the approach to complaints, investigations and disciplinary management.
You will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership of this Command through review, process/operational improvement, capability building, and a reorientation to address the requirements of sound ethical and innovative practice within government frameworks to deliver contemporary best practice service delivery. With a sizable team, exemplify the standards through your significant applied knowledge to ensure the QCS brand exemplifies professional excellence and ethics, in a high public exposure environment
You will develop strategic relationships (QCS, government, unions and beyond), evaluate sensitive and complex information, and identify themes/trends, to mitigate future issues and risk. Through governance, risk management, assurance and compliance, help train and inspire employees to be passionate about their work, take accountability for their actions, and embody the Code of Conduct. In doing so, create visible and long-lasting benefit to QCS' performance and service delivery.
**Your Expertise**
As a contemporary Senior Executive, you will lead with clarity of purpose and direction, and promote engagement, the building of relationships/partnerships, and collaboration. You will cultivate a proactive, accountable, customer-centric and high-performance culture, where learning and continuous improvement approaches are valued and supported. Demonstrated experience includes:
- Proven experience strategically leading the delivery of risk, assurance, governance and investigations related services and navigating complexity in a dynamic and multi-faceted environment, at scale (frontline service delivery);
- Demonstrated experience leading the design, implementation and evaluation of contemporary, innovative and fit for purpose strategies and processes relating to complaint assessment, management and investigations within a complex service delivery organisation.
- Significant experience in leading the coordination, assessment and management of highly complex, sensitive, or high profile investigations, misconduct/ inappropriate behaviours or complaints, and internal audit matters.
- Extensive experience successfully developing and implementing strategic and operational plans that contribute to organisational positioning and policy direction; and
- Proven experience building a high performing team and effective stakeholder relationships.
