The role This position leads policy development for changes to medicines legislation and provides expert technical and strategic advice in relation to the wider medicines policy and legislative environment.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Provide authoritative expert strategic policy and technical advice on the overarching statewide regulatory framework for medicines
- Lead the development and implementation of legislative amendments and legislative instruments
- Provide authoritative counsel to a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Health Minister, Director-General and appropriate National and State organisations or committees
- Represent Queensland Health in national, and state-wide committees and working groups.

**The successful personYou will have**:

- Expert clinical knowledge, skill and experience in medicines use across a variety of settings and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Australian policy and legislative framework relating to pharmaceuticals and pharmacy practice.
- Demonstrated high-level communication, negotiation, consultation, leadership and conflict resolution skills, with proven ability to develop effective working and strategic relationships.
