**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the Medical Advisor, the Clinical Lead is responsible for clinical support of the Health Information and Advice Service across all channels (telephony, web, and app) and forms part of the clinical leadership, together with the other clinical leads. The Clinical lead will be an experienced health professional who is confident in managing effective stakeholder relationships with a strong understanding of health.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provides clinical oversight and clinical expertise input across all channels of the Health Information and Advice Service (telephone, web and app). To ensure that the services are based on sound clinical governance principles and that they are safe, effective, appropriate, consumer focussed, and accessible and efficient this will include clinical oversight of: the telephone and video services for the healthdirect helpline (and associated services); the afterhours GP helpline; and the healthdirect service digital assets.
- Strong focus on patient safety, quality management, health policy and negotiation and liaison with internal and external stakeholders and service providers for existing services and the development of new services.
- Provides support in identifying, evaluating, and analysing risks inherent to operations of the healthdirect service
- Leads and participates in various work streams, committees, and forums
- Ensures effective and efficient procedures and processes are in place for clinically safe services
- Contributes to strategies that ensure the provision of quality, effective and efficient service
- Drives continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of services
**What we’re looking for**
- Health professional background, with current AHPRA registration
- Extensive clinical practice experience (primary care, secondary care, population health)
- In-depth understanding of the health sector in Australia, including the primary and community care sectors in health
- An excellent understanding of quality and safety and clinical governance and specifically as it relates to telehealth
- Practical experience leading and managing clinical responsibility, including reporting against clinical governance protocols
- Demonstrated experience in telehealth service delivery
