**_About the role_**

The role of the Health Information Manager is to provide strategic leadership of medical records and medico-legal policy and processes for Calvary Health Care Kogarah. The position is responsible for eMR governance and decision making framework, support and training, system optimisation and maintenance, detection, assessment and management of critical issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing clinical coding in a hybrid (paper based and electronic) environment and gradually phase out paper environment.
- Make sure all errors are rectified within specified period to avoid any possibility of potential financial penalty.
- Ensure all performance reviews and training needs of department staff are completed on due dates.
- Ensure Clinical and Corporate services committee is conducted as per Terms of Reference and functioning to enhance compliance across Calvary Kogarah.
- Produce periodical reports on timely manner to stakeholders such as executives, clinicians etc.

**_What you bring_**
- Degree in Health Information Management or other relevant tertiary qualification/and or significant experience in working in the field of information management
- Demonstrated recent extensive experience in clinical coding at a complex level
- Ability to create, interpret, monitor and evaluate policies, procedures and guidelines, and to engage with junior and senior clinical staff in the implementation of innovative strategies to deal with the challenges facing medical records management
- Demonstrated experience in the use of and reporting from computerised clinical information systems and experience in training staff and support.
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
