The Role
Macquarie University Health has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced applicant to step into the role of a Manager, Health Information Services (HIS) on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this position, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the HIS department, safeguarding medical records through the pivotal management of data quality, accuracy and compliance. While the position centres on hospital-based records, there is some overlap with clinical records in outpatient clinics. You will provide leadership, mentoring and management to a highly skilled team, which specialises in clinical coding, data quality, privacy compliance and medico-legal process. The role also involves extensive collaboration with doctors, clinical, tech and administrative staff, as well as external government agencies, to ensure statutory reporting requirements are consistently met with high quality and accuracy. You will also lead and manage key projects within the department, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with Macquarie University Health goals.

To Apply
To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1–2-page cover letter.
Bachelor of Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent with extensive experience in managing health information in a complex tertiary hospital environment.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of electronic health records and integration with a range of other systems
Demonstrated experience in building and leading a skilled and motivated team.
Sound understanding of medico-legal processes and relevant state and federal legislation and demonstrated capacity to maintain strict confidentiality.
High-level written and verbal communication skills
Excellent skills in the management of self, including organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and the ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of process and service quality'

You may also have to satisfy MQ Health that you meet all background checks (including criminal record and qualification checks).
