**About the role**:
Opportunity to use your skills and experience to join a high performing Refining team and Lead the Ensure Safe Production (ESP) process and drive Operational Improvements. In this role you will drive the 4 elements of ESP, alarm management, use of critical procedures, critical overrides process and shift logs and hand overs. You will lead the investigations of operations incidents and be part of executing investigation actions and drive Operations Continuous Improvements striving for Operational Excellence. Key accountabilities in this role will be;
- Ensure critical operations procedures are correct and being used effectively
- Ensure alarms are continuously improved to be as effective as possible
- Ensure the process for operational overrides is effectively used
- Ensure shift handover processes are used effectively
- Ensure investigations are carried out and lead to improvements
- Ensure all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed HSSE practices and procedure as outlined in the Geelong Refinery Management System
- Drive continuous improvement with in the operations team in particular with in the ESP process
- Be an influential leader within the operations team.
- Periodic reporting of progress and matters requiring escalation.

**About you**:
You will bring background in Refining Operations/ Major Hazard facility with Skills in change management and influencing a large operational team. You will have experience;
- Experience with project basics such as planning, scheduling, facilitation, quality and cost management
- Proficient problem facilitator and solver
- Systems improvement to enable agile ways of working.
- Advanced skills in performance reporting that enables past performance metrics to educate the team and be used for effective decision making in risk mitigation and business improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise all available communication channels to ensure that the team is kept up to date and engaged.
- Part of the Operations leadership team, supporting and working with other members of the leadership team to deliver operational excellence. Team work, unity, support and care are essential attributes of the Operations leadership team.
- Collaborative and active member of the Refinery Operations Team.
- Through challenge, care and honest feedback drive a high performance culture
- Highly skilled in managing complex external and internal stakeholder relationships in a highly collaborative manner.
- Demonstrated ability to influence an assurance and continuous improvement mindset.
