**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- **Ensure Compliance**: Uphold laws and industry standards.
- **Monitor Scrubber Discharge**: Oversee quality initiatives.
- **Conduct Exposure Measurements**: Assess acrylonitrile in plant.
- **Establish Stormwater Monitoring**: Develop and oversee programs.
- **Manage Regulatory Liaisons**: Handle licenses, notifications, and submissions.
- **Community Representation**: Engage in industry and community programs.
- **Promote Safe Work Systems**: Develop and advocate for safe practices.
- **Collaborate with External Bodies**: Ensure awareness and emergency preparedness.
- **Maintain Emergency Response Plans**: Develop, review, and conduct drills.
- **Record Incidents and Injuries**: Investigate and implement corrective actions.
- **Develop Policies and Procedures**: Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- **Conduct Facility Audits**: Identify and control hazards in facilities and processes.
- **Coordinate Safety Programs**: Enhance employee proficiency and safety culture.
- **Consult with Stakeholders**: Design and implement safety programs.
- **Educate on Safe Practices**: Train employees on safety and environmental responsibilities.
- **Operate Cost-Effectively**: Minimize commercial costs.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**: There are no direct reports to this position.

**Operating Environment**: The HSE Specialist will interact with all departments and play a crucial role in reviewing and improving processes. Interaction with external organizations is essential to staying current with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental laws.
