This role sits within Home Buying line of business, whose purpose is to guide and support our lending network to be the home lender of choice for all Australians.

The Home Buying Specialty Product and Platforms Crew has end to end responsibility for the Commonwealth Bank’s Specialty home loans, features, pathways as well as core platforms and the white label businesses. We support the proprietary and third-party sales and service teams to meet our customers’ needs for home finance.

**Key responsibilities of the Crew include**:

- Managing a suite of specialised home loan product and features, including Green Loan, Construction, Bridging, Government Schemes and Guarantors
- Managing Home Buying’s Climate Risk glide path, mortgage insurance solutions and the transformation agenda
- Ensure a safe, sound and secure core platform and managing the end-to-end white label business
- Product simplification, including the management and migration of quarantined products
- Ensuring the best possible customer experience, channel support, portfolio management and risk management

**Do work that matters**

You will report to Crew Lead, Specialty Product and Platforms Crew. As a Product Owner, Specialty Data squad, you will come with proven expertise in data engineering, architecture and design, as well as team leadership skills, working within largely complex product teams. You will hold a passion for providing data engineering solutions, contributing to a major set of technical decisions and build, while constantly defining the technical roadmaps in line with business’s strategic goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Define the squad product vision, goals and roadmap aligned with the Home Buying Speciality Product and Platforms Crew objectives and purpose to deliver market leading products and features resulting in an outstanding customer experience.
- Developing and designing data engineering solutions for products and platforms to address identified needs or opportunities and build and prioritise the Squad backlog in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a squad of team members including data engineers, solution designers, quality engineers and BAs, creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable and high-performance culture.
- Identify risk, dependencies and issues for the squad in line with excellent management of operational risk and compliance outcomes.
- Stay abreast of external market trends (from regulatory, economics to innovation)
- Build and foster strong relationships across the product value chain, including Chief data office, Retail Technology, Compliance, and Finance, leading virtual teams to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives and resolution of issues.

**Technical and Functional skills**:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a **data engineering **background.

- Adept at defining and driving technology roadmaps and execute relevant strategies within the domain or reference architecture and help foster an excellent engineering culture that is open, safe, productive and fun for everyone
