**We have a rare and exciting opportunity for you to become an Executive General Manager - (Clinical) and lead a dynamic team to deliver integrated genetic services.**

Our client, **VCGS (Victorian Clinical Genetics Services)** is a not-for-profit subsidiary of the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. VCGS is at the forefront of healthcare innovation and is now looking to bring an Executive General Manager (Clinical) in the organisation. This will be a leading position at a critical time in the organisation's evolution.

**_Role Overview:_**
As the Executive General Manager (Clinical), you will play a pivotal role in modernising the clinical group and navigating the evolving landscape of genomic and genetic testing. Your leadership will be integral to fostering excellence in clinical care, research translation, and medical research within VCGS. Engagement with stakeholders, in particular Department of Health (DoH) and other government funding bodies, will be a key component of this role.

**_Key Responsibilities:_**

Operational Effectiveness Responsibilities:

- Lead the VCGS Clinical Service team for day-to-day operations, overseeing clinics and enhancing collaboration with Royal Children’s Hospital.
- Manage clinical aspects of genetic pathology services delivery, ensuring coordination with VCGS leadership and reporting to the CEO and Board.
- Champion VCGS services to the Department of Health, lead improvement projects and uphold quality standards and compliance.

Financial Sustainability Responsibilities:

- Manage the Clinical service budget, ensure financial targets are met, and support research activity for funding compliance.

Strategy & Growth Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the 3-5-year strategic plan, identify, and develop clinical and research talent.
- Assist in developing a strategic plan, identify and develop clinical and research talent, foster relationships with stakeholders, and explore growth opportunities.

Globally Competitive Research Responsibilities:

- Undertake competitive research, secure external funding, and produce impactful publications.
- Lead high-performing research teams and disseminate findings through seminars, conferences, and publications.

**_Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Qualification in Medicine, Clinical Genetics, or Genetic Counselling is a MUST.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a clinical and research setting.
- Experience and understanding of at least 3 of the following settings: healthcare, pathology, science; genetic testing or counselling, academic research, not-for profit and/ or service delivery to a client base is a Must.
- Professional achievement with a high-calibre publication track record.
- Recognised as a leading authority in the relevant field of genetics.
