Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
About the role
We’re seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance business and functions for Victoria. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of CityLink (and West Gate Tunnel once completed) and ensures customer experience safely and efficient travel through the effective delivery of maintenance and minor capital works.
You will oversee maintenance and ensure it is carried out to the highest level to ensure the core of Melbourne’s freeway network is maintained to the highest standards.
As our Maintenance Manager you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Ensure our customers reliably by eliminating unplanned disruptions and delivering the maintenance activities at the right time, place and quality
- Work with our network optimisation teams to ensure the safety for our physical works teams with the minimum impact to the travelling public
- Work collaboratively across the business to continuously improve asset life cycle and maintenance outcomes
- Develop and grow our people to ensure we have a future leadership pipeline and have people today who can confidently make informed decisions to improve the business
- With a focus on safety, environment, quality and best practice, you will ensure all works are delivered in accordance with our Active Client HSE model, Transurban’s standards and industry best practice
- Take the lead in developing and challenging existing delivery models and ways of working to improve Transurban’s performance and maintenance on our roads
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- Having a background in an appropriate engineering discipline (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) you will bring a good knowledge of maintenance to ensure the contractor is performing to the highest, most efficient standards
- Being super organised, your planning, project management and time management skills will see you manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A strong communicator, you will be at ease influencing a number of parties both internal and external in order to gain desired outcomes
- A born leader, as a member of the leadership team you will be at ease with leading and collaborating with a strong team of engineers and contractors
- You’ll bring a significant background in maintenance and/or project management in a complex environment
With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year
- 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well
- Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests
- Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more
- Share offers and insurance benefits
- Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days
We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience - whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.
