The Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria is currently seeking a qualified individual for an ogoing position as a Case Management Support Officer. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a team of judicial officers, lawyers, and registry staff, collaborating to effectively manage cases in various Common Law lists, with particular focus on the Judicial Review and Appeals List, the Trusts, Equity and Probate List, the Confiscation and Proceeds of Crime List, the Valuation, Compensation and Planning List, and the Testators Family Maintenance List.
The responsibilities of the role include providing support to judicial officers during and after hearings, both in and out of the courtroom. This involves tasks such as listing matters for hearing, processing orders, facilitating and coordinating courtroom processes, clerking in court, and preparing matters outside of court while maintaining regular communication with legal practitioners.
To excel in this position, it is essential to showcase the ability to thrive in a high-performing team within a fast-paced working environment. Additionally, a strong aptitude for analysing and interpreting procedural rules and fundamental legal principles is highly desirable.
