**The Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) is seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our high-performing Review Unit. This is a great opportunity to lead a team responsible for complex reviews across Queensland's workers' compensation, work health and safety, electrical safety, and labour hire licensing frameworks. About the role As Team Leader, you'll coach and mentor review officers, oversee performance, and drive high-quality, consistent outcomes. You'll manage sensitive and complex matters, including psychological injuries, fatalities and premium disputes, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You'll also work closely and build meaningful partnerships with stakeholders, provide technical guidance, identify systemic issues impacting scheme integrity, and contribute to strategic projects that strengthen review processes and promote scheme integrity. This role will suit you if you: - Thrive in a fast-paced regulatory or legal decision-making environment - Bring strong leadership and coaching skills and are passionate about team development - Have an eye for detail, a strategic mindset, and a strong sense of procedural fairness - Are driven to influence positive change through collaboration and continuous improvement - Value creating a safe, supportive and high-performing team culture Key responsibilities - Lead a team of review officers through clear direction, structured performance planning, regular feedback, and mentoring - Oversee the allocation and quality of complex casework involving statutory reviews under multiple Acts - Manage stakeholder relationships, including the resolution of complaints and feedback - Contribute to a positive leadership team culture and act as a key adviser to senior leaders - Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives and projects across the Unit - Prepare high-level briefs and reports to inform policy, culture, and legislative outcomes - Promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture that values wellbeing and psychological safety You'll also support the wellbeing of your team through your WHS leadership responsibilities and ensure compliance with psychosocial risk management practices in line with the Code of Practice. What we're looking for We're seeking someone with demonstrated experience in: - Leading and developing teams in a performance-oriented, service-driven environment - Handling complex casework in a legal, regulatory or administrative setting - Effectively managing projects, workflows and quality outcomes - Communicating with influence and navigating sensitive stakeholder discussions - Building inclusive, psychologically safe and accountable team cultures While not mandatory, experience in legal and/or administrative decision-making is highly desirable.
