Shinwa Food supplies authentic Japanese food ingredients to restaurants and wholesalers. We have been in existence for almost 10 years. Our clients are Australia's largest Japanese wholesalers, as well as Sydney's most famous Japanese restaurant chains.

About The Full Time Cook Position
We are looking for a Full Time Cook at our Mount Druitt food preparation site (commercial central kitchen). Your tasks will be similar, yet simpler, to a Cook in a Japanese restaurant.

The hours will be 6am to 3pm, with ½ hour break typically between 10:30am and 11:00am. Roster will be available from Monday to Saturday.

Your duties may include:

- Cooking soft boiled eggs
- Deep frying chicken pieces
- Making pork belly rolls and braising them
- Making gyoza (Japanese dumplings)
- Preparing gyoza filling, by running vegetables through the food processor and mixing them with minced meat

and making other products

You will NOT be doing ALL of the above duties at the same time. Typically, you will be rostered to make one product per day. For example, you may be rostered to make deep-fried chicken on Monday, soft boiled eggs on Tuesday, gyoza on Wednesday etc.

Aside from making the actual product, you will also be expected to:

- Perform the preparation duties for the product, such as cutting vegetables, chicken, beef
- Clean up your station at the end of your shift, as well as general cleaning

Skills and Experience
Because the duties are fairly simple, anyone comfortable in a kitchen setting, whether at home or in a commercial environment, will be able to perform these duties.

Prior restaurant experience is preferred, but not required. Full training will be provided.

Working Environment and Future Expansion
Our food preparation site is located about 15-minute walk from Mount Druitt Train Station. Shuttle transport to/from the Station can be arranged. If you plan to drive, there are plenty of roadside parking available.
