Job Summary To be the first point of contact and responsible for day-to-day HR activities for all Fee Earners & Business Professional staff in the Australia office, supporting the HR Manager, Australia. Provision of accurate, timely and consistent front line HR advice to Partners, Business Professional employees and external applicants/suppliers. Key Responsibilities Graduate Recruitment- - Manage the graduate inductions and clerkship programs end-to end- Manage the ongoing development of the graduate cohort.Including working with the region for best practice and sharing of ideas on graduate development and opportunities.- Keep the future graduates in contact with the firm and ensure they are updated on current events. Staff Movement- Liaise with new joiners from acceptance through to start date ensuring all queries are responded to- Coordinate and conduct inductions- Off-boarding formalities including agreeing last days, resignation letters, exit interviews, etc Online Appraisal Process- Drive and coordinate the Online Appraisal Process for Fee Earners and Business Professionals- Update and Maintain the Online Appraisal System for the Australia offices- Participate in fee earner appraisals and provide written summaries to partners. Update Objective Manager with these summaries. Ensure that SMART goals are being set and help guide partners and individuals in this process.- Run and analyse regular reports Payroll & Salary Review- Provide back-up to the HR Manager for final payroll sign-off and submission to Links- Calculate the overtime for applicable staff and evaluate the annual salaries for the non-admitted graduate solicitors- Prepare the salary review spreadsheets and data for the HR Manager, Australia- Prepare and submit the Mercer salary benchmarking data twice annually- Collate and update the WGEA information annually through the WGEA portal Workday- Be the team 'go-to person' on Workday- Provide Workday training to the Australia team as required. General- HR Administration (ie. maintain templates, review contracts and correspondence, keep Workday up-to-date)- Lead on Employee Relations issues as appropriate- Administering promotion of Associates/Senior Associates/Counsel for the Australia offices and coordinating distribution of letters accordingly.- Assist the HR Manager, Australia with ad hoc projects and tasks.- Participate in regional projects Skills & Experience- Minimum of 5 years experience in a generalist HR Advisor role, preferably in a Law Firm or professional services firm- - Bachelor's degree, ideally in HR.- - Strong interpersonal skills- - High attention to detail- - Ability to plan and prioritise appropriately- - Possess proven organisational and administration skills.- - Ability to produce results within tight timeframes and manage multiple projects simultaneously- - Have strong problem solving and analytical skills- - Intermediate Excel skills- - You will be commercially aware and have knowledge of HR policies, structures, and strategy- - Strong influencing, communication and team working skills as well as proven ability to work on own initiative and be able to demonstrate credibly with people at all levels.- - Experience of IT systems including Workday and Taleo preferred but not essential required.About the firm Clifford Chance is one of the world's leading law firms, helping clients achieve their goals by combining the highest global standards with local expertise.
