From 23 May to 14 June, the city will be illuminated with awe-inspiring art installations and 3D light projections, casting a magical glow upon Sydney’s iconic buildings and urban spaces. There will be live music and performances that transcend boundaries, with both emerging and established artists sharing their stories through dance and song. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in thought-provoking experiences and heartfelt discussions led by inspiring minds and free-thinkers addressing the big questions. Included this year will be pop-up markets and dining experiences that pay homage to the rich diversity of our community through delectable culinary delights.

Vivid Sydney is a bright star of Sydney’s events calendar supporting the entire ecosystem of the state’s visitor economy during winter, from our artistic industries to entertainment and hospitality venues, accommodation providers and retailers. The festival is owned, managed and produced by Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency..

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the event's purpose, activities, key locations, and facilities in order to provide information to patrons.
- Providing leadership and direction to all event Volunteers and stakeholders to ensure a safe, successful, and enjoyable experience for attendees.
- Ensuring effective communication and information flow among all stakeholders, including Vivid Sydney staff, Volunteers Coordinators, Team Leaders, Volunteer Manager, Operations Team and Emergency Services.
- Lead and motivate a team of volunteers and Team Leaders to ensure they are effectively fulfilling their duties
- Report any volunteer concerns or issues to the Volunteer Manager and assist with their resolution.
- Conduct informative briefings for installation-specific areas at the beginning of each volunteer shift
- Supervise and engage volunteers following guidelines and procedures as directed by the Volunteer Manager and Event Control Centre Representative (ECC).
- Monitor the volunteer operations radio channel(s) and inform the ECC to log requests into the online reporting program, Indigo.
- Respond and action any operational requests that come through via radio or in person in a timely manner.
- Maintaining situational awareness and making decisions based on real-time information and analysis.
- Ensure all volunteers attend a toolbox talk prior to commencing their assigned tasks and maintain records of attendance.
- Monitor the performance of the Team Leaders and provide feedback to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience leading volunteer teams in an event environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain situational awareness
- Confident using radio communications and following escalation procedures
- Knowledge of event operations, safety procedures, and reporting tools

**Uniform**:

- You will receive a Black Vivid Sydney 2025 rain jacket and t
- shirt.
- Dark coloured pants, jeans, or a presentable black knee length skirt must be worn. Please no ripped jeans or leggings.
- Please wear comfortable fully enclosed flat shoes.
- You will be provided with Vivid Sydney accreditation. Your Volunteer Accreditation is your access. Please remember to bring it with you to every shift.
