**About the role**

Based in the Brisbane office and reporting to the Development Programme Manager, this role will lead a team of project engineers to deliver brownfields modification works to existing assets across all Onshore Upstream fields. This position will also oversee the delivery of projects within the program from initial conceptual design through execution, commissioning and handover to operations, oversee the management of engineering, vendors and ensure contractors are set up with all information to allow efficient execution. This position will ensure that projects are planned to meet programme milestones and delivered in line with sanction and annual work business commitments.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Managing and influencing contractor compliance with Santos EHSMS and actively support and promote the Contractor to achieve EHS & Quality targets and improvement plans; Continuously improving EHS performance and ensure standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensuring that project facilities are implemented in such a manner that all internal and applicable regulatory, safety and environmental standards and requirements are satisfied, properly scoped, engineered, planned and approved.
- Leading the review of vendors’/contractor’s designs, plans and procedures.
- Managing the activities of design consultants, vendors and contractors, and facilitate contract interfaces to ensure agreed project objectives are met.
- Ensuring that all vendor data, design and operational information is obtained, reviewed and distributed to Operations in a timely manner.
- Driving continuous improvement in the design and project implementation process. Create and implement opportunities to improve design and cost effectiveness. Create and implement opportunities to improve the workflow associated with the project execution process. Create and implement opportunities to improve materials and construction methods used in the projects.
- Performing regular field and vendor factory visits to review and advise on progress, and improve interface/ operational efficiency (nominally 1 week per month).
- Owning the overall responsibility for the delivery of detailed cost estimates and annual budgets for the field infrastructure program, overall management of the program to meet key program targets and objectives.
- Monitoring and controlling costs for construction operations and report potential scope, cost and time changes.
- Leading the interface with the design consultant, vendors, construction contractor and relevant Santos staff.
- Ensuring that all engineering and planning is performed in a structured manner that complies with Australian Standards, Santo’s procedures and safety systems.
- Driving all aspects of the relevant project management, including, but not limited to implementation appropriate project execution and contracting strategies, compliance with Santos’ project management procedures and technical specifications, regulatory contracting processes, ensuring that contract and purchase orders are administered in compliance with Santos’ requirements, and Santos’ project control requirements, including change management.
- Setting goals through performance and development discussions and deliver on agreed plans.
- Setting benchmarks and priorities for agreed goals and prioritise workload accordingly.
- Adhering to company standards and processes (for example, governance, risk management, EHS).
