About the Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG)
The Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG) is the government arm that provides oversight and coordination of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. A portfolio of the Victorian Government's Department of Jobs, Precincts & Regions (DJPR), the OCG will oversee the planning, delivery and legacy of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. This includes management of the Games budget, governance coordination, the commissioning of the infrastructure build, government relations at all levels and the achievement of Games legacy objectives.
The OCG will also oversee the delivery of the Host Contract obligations by third parties (including the Local Organising Committee), determining and delivering legacy planning, commission delivery of sporting and housing infrastructure and have ultimate accountability for managing the funds decided by Cabinet. Structured with key streams of work, the OCG will work in close partnership with Local Organising Committee (LOC) to deliver a world class Commonwealth Games, showcasing Regional Victoria in 2026.
About the CEO Role
Reporting to the Secretary of the Department of Jobs, Precincts & Regions (DJPR) and being a key member of the Departmental Executive Board, the CEO will lead the OCG providing high level expertise, strategic advice and government oversight for the coordination of the program of work required to successfully deliver the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Responsible for a significant budget over the next four years you will be supported by and provide direction to four work streams / direct reports including Governance, Policy and Government Relations; Finance, Delivery, Oversight and Assurance; Legacy and Impact; and Games Precincts and Infrastructure.
With stakeholder management being a key component of this role, you will forge key partnerships across the Department and broader Government, with the Local Organising Committee for the Commonwealth Games (LOC), portfolio entities and other key stakeholders. In doing this you will be representing Ministers and Government in consultations and negotiations at a national and international level.

You appreciate and understand government priorities and processes and bring with this a track record for delivering outcomes in complex operating environments. Highly regarded for your exceptional stakeholder management skills you bring an ability to influence and negotiate and have experience working with stakeholders from all walks of life, be that local community through to international delegates.
