**About the role**

Churches of Christ Housing Services is a community housing provider, focused on providing affordable housing for people on low income, are homeless or are at risk of homelessness.

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Maintenance Officer to undertake hands on grounds maintenance duties including mowing, gardening and minor property maintenance duties across multiple locations.

**Permanent Full-time role**

**Monday - Friday work**

**5 weeks Annual Leave, plus Sick leave and public holidays paid**

**All equipment and PPE provided**

**$29 per hour**

Our Maintenance Officers perform a wide range of tasks, as part of the role you may also be required to supervise other maintenance workers, contractors or trainees. Your days will be varied but the majority of your workload will be mowing, grounds maintenance and will include (but not limited too):

- Household and garden refuse removal;
- Record keeping and maintenance of equipment;
- General maintenance work including property repairs, basic fitting installation and cleaning.

Maintenance Officers require own transport to and from a depot location where a vehicle is provided for travelling to job sites.

You are reliable and a hardworking individual, who is motivated and enthusiastic with a positive can-do attitude. You have a welcoming, caring, compassionate nature and are ever ready to provide support.

You enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team and the ability to work autonomously and manage your own time is exceptional. With your commitment to customer service and excellent general maintenance skills you resolve and respond to issues as they arise.

You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role.

To be suited to this position, ideally you will have:

- Experience working in a high-volume grounds maintenance team;
- A willingness to travel throughout the Logan / Gold Coast / South east QLD region;
- Ability to communicate well with multiple customers;
- Experience with gardening power equipment including zero turn ride on mowers;
- General handy-man skills;
- Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements, or ability to acquire within one month of employment;
- A current driver's licence;
- Possess a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card).
