The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for the sales and support of new and existing customers, as well as maximising opportunities for sales within an assigned region and supporting the overall technical sales team by maximising the coverage to gain market share.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Understand the needs of end users and Dealers in the assigned territory to grow market share and revenue
- Meet with Dealers and territory sales managers on a regular basis to maintain current knowledge of the end users, preferences, and identify opportunities for sales
- Prepare sales plans and reports, analysing sales results and revise plans accordingly to maximise sales
- Support the development and implementation of new product roll-out plans that the service groups require for training
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging and advances technologies and work collaboratively with the wider team to identify potential new products that could be integrated into the product line
- Participate in the successful product launches in conjunction with product marketing and sales
- Maintain a close, positive working relationship with Dealers in assigned territory, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering and Operations
- Ensure the timely resolution of service issues for Dealers in assigned territory
- Support the Territory Managers when requested for technology products and services
- Collect and analyse product reliability information related to the product lines and advanced technologies which includes technology trends, opportunities, and customers’ expectations
- Participate in the development of the annual service training
**What you’ll need to succeed**:
- A degree in Engineering, Business, Agricultural Mechanisation and Business, Agricultural Sciences (agronomy, soil science, crop production, etc.), Mechanised Agriculture or Agricultural Economics is preferred
- Two years’ experience working directly with dealer sales and service personnel
- A background in Agriculture
- Experience with mechanised irrigated agriculture, GPS, cellular communication networks preferred
- Strong technical understanding of electronics and hydraulics.
- The ability to travel, if assigned, up to 75% of the time
- The ability to resolve complex problems and challenges
- The ability to establish and cultivate excellent working relationships with dealers and customers
- Strategic thinking with tactical and detailed execution
- Expertise in the use of influence, team participation, consensus building and dealer/customer/grower communication
- The ability to work within a broader sales team to achieve company goals beyond assigned territory
- Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability and personality to calmly deal with and de-escalate tense situations in the field and on the phone
- Ability to see tasks through to completion
- Be a self-starter, able to plan and work independently
