Jessie McPherson Private Hospital also has a wider official specialist role for greater Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate in such specialties as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neuro-surgery, vascular, gastro-surgery, general medicine and respiratory, high acuity maternity and neonatal services. **Quality & Safety Unit at Monash Health**

Led by the Executive Director Quality and Safety and working closely with key stakeholders, the Quality & Safety Unit supports our private hospital leaders to embed strong clinical governance processes. This is critical to underpin the delivery of safe and effective care to every patient, every time.

We now have a great opportunity for an outstanding clinical professional to join our well regarded Quality & Safety team in a full time, permanent position.

**About the Role**

In this important role, you will work closely with Jessie McPherson Private Hospital leaders to ensure a consistent, organisation-wide approach to patient safety and quality improvement across clinical services.

Your key responsibilities will comprise:

- ensuring clinical outcomes are monitored and improved when needed;
- Working with the Executive and clinical leaders on the ongoing requirements to gain accreditation, and aiming towards higher achievements at organisation wide survey
- Ensuring strong links between the strategic goals and directions of the organisation, and the quality and risk management activities
- Acting as a change agent to support the implementation and sustainability of organisation wide quality improvement strategies
- Supporting the development, governance and reporting of quality initiatives; including maintenance of the quality boards and quality plans
- Development and maintenance of the consumer participation plan; including oversight of all activities under the Consumer Participation National Standard
- working with the Clinical Outcomes team and programs to facilitate or lead reviews into clinical incidents and outcomes;
- adopting a consultative approach to the review of clinical procedures and guidelines in a timely fashion;
- overseeing the implementation and evaluation of relevant standards including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards;
- working with the Risk team to facilitate review of the Risk Register; and
- Ensuring promotion of and compliance with best practice standards, professional standards and legislative requirements and policies and procedures.

**About You**

Your skills and experience to date include:

- a clinical background, with a demonstrated strong understanding of clinical governance;
- experience in quality and risk management within a healthcare setting;
- proven experience in implementing continuous clinical quality improvement;
- experience in implementing the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards; and
- excellent report writing skills.
