Transport Manager

The primary role of the Transport Manager is the effective leadership and management of the PUD function of the Branch, which is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of our customers’ freight through an Intermodal supply chain.
The Transport Manager is responsible for achieving the KPI’s set for the operation and manage customer relations at a local level ensuring a win-win approach to business solutions whilst ensure all site safety, company, customer, local and federal legislative requirements are met and enforced. This role will also contribute to strategies and establish and act on the tactics and processes for its implementation.
Primary Responsibilities- Meet priorities, budgets, and plans to achieve overall BU strategy, goals, and targets.- Assess, optimise, and develop capability and resources.- Balance capabilities and resources to achieve the strategy.- Create and develop initiatives for growth and innovation.- Promote collaboration and acceptance across the business by providing leadership, resources, and solutions as achievable.- Set and manage standards and performance expectations for front line leadership group to ensure the highest standards of excellence in customer service reliability and efficiency and sustainability in safety and environmental performance.- Maximise profitability by linking management goals and standards with the practical means of achievement in a high impact operation which drives significant improvement in profitability.- Make sure front line leadership group have a customer first mindset and the operation is set up to put the customer first especially when linking with other operations or business.- Maximising correct usage of Toll Electronic Devices and associated systems, thus streamlining operational and financial performance.
**Qualifications**:
We are looking for someone with:
- Full understanding of Supply Chain Management and intermodal / multimodal transport processes and expectations.- Understanding of Rail and Sea / Port operations and associated administration.- Familiarity with KPI’s and using them to monitor and manage the operation.- Ability to develop, implement and manage site-based business plans.- Awareness of WA road legislation, RAV operating conditions and WAHVA related compliance.- We believe nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace, which celebrates different points of view and gives everyone the chance to contribute, as we build to a bigger and brighter future.
Required skills include:
- Excellent Communication (verbal, written, listening) skills- Strong customer service orientation (internal & external)- Develop and foster close working partnership/relationships with the Customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other related parties- Ability to resolve conflict to a positive, business value-added outcome- Time management and prioritisation- Sound Understanding of HSE policies and Legislative requirements.
