We are on the lookout for an experienced and driven Steel Supervisor to join our busy and fast- paced team If you've got a strong background in the Steel Industry, solid planning and scheduling experience, and you're not afraid to jump in and assist hands-on in the yard- we want to hear from you
About The Role
As our Steel Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations in our busy yard. You'll be responsible for supervising a large team, managing scheduling of inbound and outbound movements, and overseeing the smooth flow of materials through the site. This role requires a hands-on leader who is just as comfortable behind a computer as they are on the ground with the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a small operational team in a steel yard environment.
  • Coordinate daily inbound and outbound scheduling of steel products
  • Ensure efficient workflow, staff coverage and adherence to deadlines
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and compliance with all relevant standards
  • Assist in the yard with load restraint and safety checks when required
  • Maintain accurate data entry and reporting for stock control and scheduling
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners.
  • Safely operate 5-16ft forklift as needed (License required)

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in a steel environment (essential)
  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of steel operations
  • Demonstrated planning scheduling experience (a must)
  • Valid LF License and solid operating experience
  • Solid load restraint knowledge and practical yard experience
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities
  • A safety-first mindset and great communication skills.
