**Support Coordinator - Job Description**

**About Us**:
Pearson Allied Health Services (PAHS) specialise in providing services to children, young people, and adults with disabilities. We offer a range of individualised, dynamic, and flexible services, including animal assistive therapies and a wide range of groups.

With 2 offices located in Morphett Vale (Down South) and also a head office in Greenhill Road, Wayville, staff can chose the location they work from but we also offer the option when confident of working from home.

We are currently looking for Support Coordinators both junior and those who have experience in the role.

Our goal is to support participants on the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), to access their funding in a positive and goal driven way, to help improve quality of life outcomes and to walk in partnership with people through their NDIS journey.

**The Position**:
We are seeking applicants who are driven, passionate and person-centred in their approach and philosophy. You will be working with people living with disabilities, to coordinate and provide a high-quality service that both empowers and provides opportunities for the person to live an enriching and high-quality life. This is an incredibly diverse and multi-varied role, that will provide opportunities for further development, training, and growth. This includes:

- Working constructively and collaboratively in a team
- Performing a high standard of record keeping and clinical note creation that is consistent with NDIS review and reporting requirements.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of key stakeholders
- Assisting participants to negotiate their supports with the NDIS and to complete both scheduled and unscheduled reviews.
- Assisting participants in effectively utilising their NDIS plan, using an individualised approach.
- Building capacity and resilience in participants

**Desirable Knowledge**:

- Understanding and knowledge of the Privacy Act and relevant confidentiality requirements.
- Understanding of the NDIS Code of Conduct and act in compliance at all times and in accordance with the PAHS Mission Statement.
- Understanding of Disability Service Standards and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of United Nations Convention on Human Rights for People with a Disability.

**Desirable Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Allied Health, or a similar degree.
- Experience in the disability (or health) sector and an understanding of the issues experienced by people with disabilities and their families
- Experience in planning, case management and coordination of services for people with complex needs
- Lived experience of disability

**Essentially Certification and Clearances**:

- Current NDIS Worker Check or Disability Services Employment Screening.
- Current Child Safe Environments Certification (or prepared to get)
- Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) (or prepared to get)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality Safety and You’ Training
- NDIS New Worker Induction Modules
- Senior First Aid and CPR Certification. (or prepared to get)
- Unrestricted driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
- Vaccine and provide proof of vaccination status prior to being appointed to the role. You must promptly receive any further COVID-19 vaccination(s) or booster vaccination(s) approved by the TGA, which are available to you to access.

**Additional Information**:
You are required to submit a cover letter which should be no longer than two pages addressing how your skills, attributes, experience and capabilities align with the role description. You are also required to provide two work referees, preferably being your two most recent positions and attach a copy of your current resume
