The Timetabling Officer - Professional Services
works within a team environment and is
responsible for the timetabling and class
reallocation activates across the faculty.
The position is a part of the Faculty of Health,
Specialist Student Support team, that
comprises of Student Support, Professional
Services and Student Governance, delivering
timely, effective and efficient services to staff
and students.
The Timetabling Officer (Professional
Services) is expected to liaise and collaborate
with a range of academic and professional staff
at varying levels across the university, to utilise
information technology systems to produce a
quality timetable that optimises resource
usage, and to provide a high level of client
service to all partners and stakeholders.
This position reports to the Professional
Services Coordinator for supervision, workload
management and for Performance Planning
and Review (PPR).***
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Undertake activities associated with the
preparation of the Faculty of Health’s
teaching timetable in accordance with
course and academic staff requirements,
student needs, and in compliance with
relevant university policy, process and
systems.
- Administer the Class Allocation and
Registration (CAR) system and processes
to ensure Health students can allocate
efficiently and effectively to class offerings.
- Manage requests for ad hoc space
bookings.
- Contribute to the faculty effort in
developing data models to support
improvements in timetabling activities.
- Initiate timetabling and class allocation
process improvement with Professional
Services Coordinator and through
collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Participate in QUT events to represent the
faculty.
- Compliance with health and safety policies,
procedures, hazard reporting and safe
work practices.
- To ensure job flexibility the successful
- appointee may be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by
the University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the
Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking
any new duties will receive training;
- participate in job rotation or multiskilling in
consultation with their supervisor;
- work across campuses
**Type of appointment**
This appointment will be offered on an
ongoing, full-time basis.

Selection Criteria
1. Education, training and/or relevant
experience equivalent to completion of a
degree in conjunction with subsequent
relevant administrative experience.
2. Well-developed organisational skills with
ability to effectively plan and prioritise work
and interpret rules and policy.
3. Ability to work independently with mínimal
supervision, with demonstrated experience
in identifying and delivering process
improvement opportunities with diverse
partners and stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and
communication skills, including relationship
building, consultation and working
collaboratively across teams.
5. Demonstrated digital literacy at a high level
experience in retrieving, analysing and
interpreting data from large-scale
databases.
**Remuneration and Benefits**
- The classification for this position is Higher
- Education Worker Level 6 (HEW6) which has
- an annual remuneration range of $96,955 to
- $104,981 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual
- salary range of $81,928 to $88,710 pa and
- 17% superannuation, and leave loading.
