Senior Accounting Professional

This senior accounting professional is a permanent, full-time position requiring an individual to assist with financial accounting and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete end-of-month financial reports in accordance with the business timetable and prepare accurate reports for review by stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording and perform reconciliations of payroll balances.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts and transactions and account for foreign exchange movements.
  • Review the work of support staff to ensure entries are correct and submitted on time for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in accordance with the month-end timetable.
  • Assist with divisional statutory reporting, liaising with external auditors and completing audits on time.
  • Assist with budget processes, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with GST and FBT returns, including calculations, reconciliations, and lodgement.
  • Assist with cashflow reporting and forecasting.
About You

We seek a passionate accountant with experience in a large, complex organisation, able to work in a team and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or commerce.
  • CPA/CA qualified.
  • Commercial experience in a large entity – 5+ years post-qualified.
  • Experience as a Senior Accountant or Management Accountant is desirable.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting systems and ability to interpret reporting needs and communicate with IT.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong understanding of monthly management reporting processes and prior experience coordinating monthly cycles.
  • Change management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Understanding of risk management and internal controls.
