**About Our Client**:
Due to the secondment of the current production planner to assist with a project my Client is looking for a contract production planner to;
- Support the monthly S&OP process to establish robust supply plans that aligns with corporate strategic objectives on customer experience, inventory management and operational excellence.
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilisation of production capacity
- Influence cross functional business partners with planning recommendations using insights, scenario plans and data.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating monthly site supply review and weekly schedule sign-off meetings
- Capturing and review schedule adherence
- Acting as the point of contact for the Operations team regarding demand
- Planning, preparing, issuing production schedules
- Advising management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems or concerns
- Releasing work order load into the production line
- Responding to requests for product availability, in particular made to order products
- Monitoring potential shortages and develop/recommend corrective action/s
- Managing ERP data sets including but not limited to item attributes, routings, planning parameters, lead times, safety stock, and shrinkage rates and other system parameters to drive MRP correctly
- Analysing demand with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
- Liaising with manufacturing team and the purchasing department on material status and production planning issues
- Revising schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment
- Providing support to the New Product Introduction process
- Maintaining work order start dates and communicates adjustments to key stakeholders
- Providing ad-hoc reports and support as required.
- Demonstrating an earnest commitment to the company's objectives for continuous improvement initiatives
**The Successful Applicant**:
- Experience working in a fast paced and ever evolving planning position.
- Strong business acumen & understanding of demand and production
- Methodical, analytical and an ability to challenge current process
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and independent problem resolution.
