Office and Employee Events Manager

At Stile, we create world-class resources for science teachers, whom we call superheroes because they are. Our resources (think videos, lesson plans, questions, simulations, activities and more) spark excitement and curiosity in every student.
At the most basic level, we get kids thinking critically about the world around them and make evidence-based decisions for themselves and for their community. Have a read of our ‘why’ for more information.
Over 400,000 students and 8,000 teachers around the country and increasingly around the world use Stile, and we expect this to more than double in the next couple of years in line with our international expansion strategy (USA here we come). That’s quite some reach, and it’s a responsibility we take very seriously.
The Stile team is made up of 70 incredible teachers, scientists, artists, and engineers who genuinely care about, and are working towards, improving scientific literacy amongst our young citizens.
That’s where you come in
We’re looking for an Office and Employee Events Manager to join the team. This role will report to our Director of People and Culture.
As the Office and Employee Events Manager you will ensure we create a productive and engaging environment for all Stilists.
**Sound interesting?**
- A cover letter (no more than a page) explaining why you're going to smash this role out of the park. Include a paragraph on which Behaviours of an Effective Stile-ist most resonate with you or which you disagree with and why
- Your resume
- Address your letter to Danny Pikler
Got questions about our hiring process?.
We can't wait to hear from you
**What’s in it for you**
- Colleagues worth working with. You’ll join an amazing 70-strong team of teachers, scientists, artists, and engineers. Imagine a workplace where everyone genuinely cares about, and is working towards, improving scientific literacy amongst our young citizens. We hold ourselves, and each other, to a high standard, and love what we do.
- Working on something that _really _matters. In partnership with teachers, we’re coaching students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers. The internet democratised information. We believe that with a strong command of science, tomorrow’s citizens and leaders have a fighting chance of sorting the misinformation from the facts.
- Support always. Stile is its people, and it’s important we are creating an environment where you’re supported, happy and able to do your best work. We have strong management and feedback frameworks, an Employee Assistance Program, a progressive parental leave policy, and much more
- A fantastic office environment. When we can, we spend time in the office. It has a huge central kitchen, lots of places to put your feet up to work and even end of trip facilities if you decide to ride in.
- Flexibility. We expect that you work hard, but you’ll have flexible hours and you’re the master of your own schedule.
- Your own professional development. We’re lifelong learners here at Stile. Alongside teaching you everything you need to know to succeed in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to attend internal and external PD.
- A full IT set-up. A Mac laptop, and whatever other bits and pieces you need to be productive. We have a work-from-home reimbursement for all new Stilists to get their home set up as comfortable as theirs at Stile HQ.
**Responsibilities**
Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for creating an environment that helps make Stile(ists) successful.
- Building relationships with Stilists across all departments, getting to know what they need to be productive.
- Ensuring StileHQ is a delightful and productive space for all Stilists.
- Delivering engaging internal communications so all Stilists are well informed.
- Organising company-wide celebrations and annual events that thoughtfully engage all Stilists.
A typical day as the Office and Employee Events Manager would include posting to our internal chat channels about what’s happening in the office, collating updates from across Stile into our weekly internal newsletter, picking a theme and planning the details for our monthly Friday “Hangs” event and chatting with staff to make sure they are looked after and their Stile experience is meeting their needs.
**A bit more about you
- You always think about how things will impact other people. You’re keenly aware of this, and go out of your way to ensure all team members feel supported, valued and included.
- You easily build relationships with people across departments and connect people across the company.
- You’re a great communicator and find creative ways to engage with a diverse group of people.
- You embody Stile’s mission, vision and values and display these in your everyday interactions.
**Hours and location
