Accounts Assistant required for a major manufacturing organisation based in Western Melbourne

**Your new company**

A major manufacturing organisation which recycles millions of kilograms of perishable material generated by the livestock and poultry, meat/poultry processing. We convert this material into valuable ingredients for edible fats, various soaps, cosmetics, explosives, toothpaste, pharmaceuticals, leather, têxtiles and lubricants and bio diesel. The majority of finished products are used in the feed industry in the form of high-energy fats and high-quality protein ingredients that supplement the diet and enable efficient production of beef, veal, pork, poultry, fish, eggs and milk. The pet food industry also benefits by having access to a vast array of nutrient-rich and flavourful ingredients for rations that maintain healthy companion animals.

**Your new role**

Accounts Assistant reporting to the financial manager key duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Data entry of sales transactions where required and compliance of the electronic data entry for sales transactions
- Some data entry of driver supplier runs and monitoring of other electronic data submitted by drivers
- Monitor inventory stock levels and other transactions submitted
- Debtor processing and control
- AP entry and payments runs
- Provide analytical support to business partners as required, specifically finance and sales teams and other internal teams as needed
- General ledger monitoring
- Other accounting and admin/reception responsibilities
- Develop skills and knowledge to take on additional accounting functions and tasks as the group grows

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Accounting studies at Bachelor or Diploma level
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- MS Excel skills
- Understanding of key accounting concepts and controls in place
- Excellent & proven attention to detail skills
- Flexibility to work in a small team and to perform other duties
- An analytical mindset with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
